Early Years Pupil Premium

If your 3-4 year old child attends our Nursery School, you may be able to help us with gaining extra funding so we can do even more to support your child.  This may be through specialist training for their staff or new experiences for the children or resources to challenge them to learn and develop.

The funding is called Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) and is paid directly to childcare providers.

If you include your National Insurance Number on the registration and funding forms, this will be used to allocate this funding.

Who is eligible?

You must also get at least one of the following:

• Income Support
• income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• support under part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit) and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
• Working Tax Credit run-on, which is paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Universal Credit – your household income must be less than £7,400 a year after tax not including any benefits you get

You may also get early years pupil premium if your child is currently being looked after by a local authority in England or Wales or if your child has left care in England or Wales through:

• adoption
• special guardianship order
• a child arrangements order

Every child who is eligible for the EYPP could raise up to £342.00 a year for our Nursery School.  This funding from the government goes directly to Lee Royd Nursery School

We use baseline data of those children who qualify for Early Years Pupil Premium or EYPP, to plan the additional support given.  Depending on need, support is given through a wide variety of ways from Early Talk Boost, a speech and language intervention, additional small group time delivered by a Teaching Assistant, paying for external visitors to come to Nursery to give the children experiences and to buy new Interventions that will benefit the children.

Our tracking data evidences that the gap between children who qualify for the EYPP and others is closing effectively.  We expect to close the gap further.

This document indicates our allocation of the Pupil Premium grant, the main barriers to educational achievement, how we propose to spend the Pupil Premium to address these barriers and how we will measure the impact.

Disability Access Fund

Your child’s early years provider could get £800 or more per year to help with their education and support.

This will be paid direct to your early years provider.

You can apply to get disability access funding if your child is aged 3 or 4 and you’re receiving both:

• 15 hours free childcare – you do not need to use all of your hours to be eligible
• Disability living allowance for children
