My name is Mrs Nichola Dewhurst, and I am the HLTA and classroom leader of Badgers Class, as well as the Deputy DSL and Student Coordinator. I have over 20 years of experience in Early Years education and am passionate about creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to achieve their best.
At Lee Royd Nursery, our dedicated staff is committed to providing an exceptional learning experience for all children. We pride ourselves on being a warm and friendly team, believing that every child, regardless of their background, abilities, or family structure, deserves the best possible start in life.
Badgers Class is a vibrant group of up to 29 children aged 3–4 years old, based in a large, inviting classroom designed to inspire curiosity and independence. Our space is thoughtfully organised with engaging areas that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaborative play, supporting children as they grow in confidence and develop new skills.
We are also fortunate to have access to a wonderful outdoor environment where children can extend their learning through active, hands-on experiences and discovery.
We understand that every child is unique, and we carefully plan learning experiences that reflect individual interests and needs, ensuring each child has the opportunity to shine and reach their full potential.
As parents and carers, you know your child best. We value working in close partnership with you and maintain an open-door policy, so please feel free to speak to us at any time if you have questions, concerns, or information to share.
We use Weduc, our parent app, to keep you updated with your child’s learning and experiences, as well as sharing key information and news. Please ask a member of staff if you need any support accessing this.
We look forward to welcoming you to Badgers Class!
