The Learning Environment

‘This school is a happy place to learn or work.  The school remains an extremely well-resourced, organised nursery that provides children with a wide range of fascinating opportunities to learn.  Children spend much time exploring outdoors, including being energetic and physically active.’

Children learn best when they are enjoying themselves and when they feel safe and valued.   In our Nursery all areas of continuous provision both indoors and outdoors are regularly enhanced with exciting and stimulating resources to encourage curiosity and independence.  We work hard to create an environment which is rich in learning and fun.  The  Teachers oversee the careful planning of the curriculum to provide a broad and balanced programme of development to extend the children’s learning, to promote awe and wonder and meet the needs of all our individual children.  Activities are planned to enhance children’s speech, language and communication skills and help them learn how to make friends and to share and take turns.  We offer challenges to the children where they can take risks in a safe environment.  We also developing the number of visitors we have coming into nursery to enhance the children’s learning and development, for example the Lancashire Hawks and Owls and the community police.

All our children progress at their own pace receiving support and guidance where needed.
