Maths is an important part of learning for all children in the Early Years, as it is an essential life skill! As well as numeracy, it helps skills such as: problem solving, understanding,  using shapes and measure and develop their own spacial awareness.

Here at Lee Royd Nursery School the children are exposed to number and mathematical concepts within the provision they play in. We also have dedicated time each week to Maths, this is when the teachers will teach a specific skill in small groups.

On Friday 7th February we are taking part in the NSPCC Maths day. We will have a variety of Maths activities throughout the day for our children to take part in. Families will be invited too. 🙂
